VAAGUE

Antoine Pierre, a dynamic force in the world of contemporary music, has been pushing boundaries with his electronic project VAAGUE since its inception in 2020. Known for his work with Urbex and Next.Ape, Pierre's music blends jazz with experimental trip-hop. Inspired by Thom Yorke's Tomorrow's Modern Boxes tour, he embarked on a solo journey using innovative sensor technology to link his drums with a computer, creating a sound that fuses acoustics and electronics in real time. After two highly praised EPs and collaborations with artists like Le Motel, Amy Root, and Dorian Dumont, VAAGUE’s debut album Oktopus Mekaniks drops in October 2024. The project seamlessly melds bass music, jungle grooves, drum-and-bass, and jazz patterns, creating a sonic landscape that's both innovative and immersive. Pierre’s live performances are an exhilarating mix of improvisation, cutting-edge technology, and virtuosic drumming, earning VAAGUE a reputation for its unique sound and creative mastery.
